hi im wondering if any one could help me i have a fiat punto 1.2 2000 w reg which ive just started having problems with the heaters when the car goes on a run they warm up a little but when the car is just standing they go cold also the temp light comes on when the car is just sat idling but it is not using any water or smoking (my first thought was head gasket but i thought it would smoke or use water) also it seams to be revving a little high alot lately i hope someone can help as i dont really wanna spend alot on it....

Check thermostat. Bleed system. Does radiator cooling fan come on?

hi yea the fan kicks in on the radiator fine im asuming the thermostat is ok as the fan works also havent long blead the radiator to put antifreeze in

is it possible the water pump impeller has sheared due to engine icing up at this bottom corner?

My experience is that if impeller shears they brew up very quickly indeed. Stat stuck open?

i wonder if the revving is a red herring or symptomatic (insert undecided emocon coz there isnt one)
