If you just switch sidelight on and the error light occours - then its a side light, since you've had new Headlights its going to be them at fault
If it has LED Sidelights / Led Halo's then thats the problems LED's dont use enough umph to warning comes on
Or 5w fitted instead of 10w

as for pointing Wrong Way?
You mean the beam focus is to the right not to the left?

The Front Sidelights should be a 10w Bulb

If they are LED's or 5w, you will need to install resistors


As for the Beam corrector - He means what the UK drivers have to use in Europe to prevent Razzle Dazzle!
