Hi, when i take my punto mk2 mia for a drive over about half an hour, the orange light that looks like a gearbox comes on, and when i stop the fan is on for a few minutes.


also i have the airbag light on constantly too ??

Any help would be good thank you

also, does anyone know/ or have a link to a pic showing where i fill the gearbox oil from? i have a 12mm allen key which im told is the one i need, but where is it!! ha

Dont know if its the same engine and box, but might give you idea where to look.

If So - thats the Engine management Light

The Gearbox light is on all cars
But not for the manual box's
Its symbol looks like a Car with it bonnet open

Anyway the Gearbox Fill and Points

Open the Bonnet and Look at the gearbox
You will see a Big 12mm Hex Plug there

As for the Drain hole - you need to get under the car


Blue Circle, it faces the back of the Engine (Bulkhead) its a 8mm IIRC

the Fill Level is when it starts to dribble out the Filler Plug
I cheat get to that level, get the car on a Gently back slope (so g.box is slightly higher) and then put another 100ml in
I've got a slow leak, so i check mine regular

Just Crack the nut off first when on a level ground
If it starts to dribble as you hold the bung inplace, just quickly whip it back in

If the EML - Engine Management Light
Is on, then Yes Fault Code

Does it only do it on start up?
Random at any point?

Airbags are deactivated then

With your situation, You might as well get a Suitable OBDII Connector off ebay cheap
And download Fiat Ecu Scan
Either Mod or purchase the modication of the pins

And hook up and diag the faults yourself
If the EML comes on after been running half hour - a fault code will probably been produced
