I don't know much about cars but I could use some help removing ECU unit from my car to have it repaired...

They said it is just 3 bolts...but I could use some guidance to remove it and to take it to the electronics...

Theres 2 bolts, #8 hex iirc, circled in picture below, remove these.

Then theres a small catch at the RED arrow, press it in, then turn the locking clip in direction of GREEN arrow, then push them put in direction of YELLOW arrow.

It looks like the right hand side one is missing its locking clip, so it should just pull out.

if the clip is missing there may be nothing wrong with ecu, may just be plug is coming loose?

that throttle body could do with a clean too

ok can you please help what is missing on the picture...What clip...I didnt understand that part...

and thanx a LOOOOOt COLINF1 fro helping me with tht picture...it is so helpful...

can u give me advice and guidance with taking out that THROTTLE body????

Ok, to take out TB, unplug all of those connections

Throttle Posistion Sensor, Idle Control Valve, 2 ECU connectors, 1 sensor on right hand side

Earth strap, small black cable just to right of the 2 sensors you unplugged, think its and 8 or 10

3 torx head bolts, 1 in front of the throttle opening (the round part), 2 just to the back of it.

No need to unbolt ecu

Lift the body up and turn it upside down and rest it on an old rag on the rocker cover.

No need to undo the throttle cable as you can get it all clean just as it sits on top of engine.

Remove the 2 torx screws on the butterfly, turn the throttle to open, then you can slide it out. Remember which way it came out as needs to go back in the same way.

Just use carb cleaner to clean up all surfaces, butterfly and idle control valve.

I should have taken pictures when I done mine last week and made a guide

when you come to replace the plugs into the ecu treat it like a beautiful woman and caress them in
you will find that they get drawn in as you pull the cover down so dont push it dont force it of you will wreck the ecu
