Hi all,
Newbie here.
Just bought my son his first car a Mk 2 punto and we are having problems with the drivers window. We have replaced the plastic window holder on the regulator as this was broken. The window now works but will not go up straight and comes out of the glass brush strips is there something i am missing ??
any advice welcolme.

Hi back again,
Just noticed a small hole in the glass which is hidden in the brush strip. Am i right in assuming that a small pin goes through the hole and is located in a runner or something to aid the glass moving straight up and down?

yes a bit of plastic goes in this hole to stop the window tipping up as it goes up,its used on lots of cars like pewgots too
without it your window will always tip,im sure they should be pennies from a dealer or look on the bay?
 
Thanks all... Thats the window fixed now onto the fan not cutting in when the engine gets too hot !!:bang:

Does the Engine Overheat and doesn't activate?

eitherway - be careful when its overheating - these engines dont like heat to much and easily warp the heads

First Check the Fuse - easy cheap - you can do
Next is the Relay - When activated using a low 12v current - it should have very little resistance to it
Failing that - get the Fan connected to a 12v power supply - Make sure the cables/power can give the required umph

If all 3 pass - then its next line is wiring - Failing that, the car probably got a failing temperature sensor - but since the fan isn't activating (which the sensor failing does) it could mean other possible problems

Also Make sure the Coolant level is at max mark - No Air and is in good condition(ie not old anti-freeze)

If the car has just pure water in it - Drop it - chemical flush it - Flush with water again - Refill with a good strong 50/50mix ready for winter

if you download yanis free fiatecuscan programme and also microswats programme 2.0 and buy an elm lead at less than a $10 (the latest one ) then you can use this to confirm that the ecu can fire the fan as one of the tests in the programme
yani should get a nobel brilliant prize by the way
forgot to mention the cts also does the temp guage so its easilly ruled out if faulty
pps the fuse for the fan is next to the battery if its blown:)
