Bought my car from a dealer in Norbury last week, should of realised then I should of gone elsewhere, when the car pasted its mot with a bad tyre on it lol. He claimed it was all ok, as they do, only having to change it cause I was worried and tyre guy said it would never pass an mot with that tyre on it.

Very next day when starting her up from cold she wouldnt start, was firing ok but would not idle till i rev'd her a few times then she idled. When she is warm she is fine and is a beautiful drive. Taking her for a service Thursday, but would like some ideas as wot it could be!

I am very annoyed as you can imagine new tyre and who knows what is next grrrr

Try cleaning out the throttle body. Plenty of explanations on here if you don't know how.

You're timing may be a slight bit out which causes this over time but cleaning tb should stop it for now

knackered spark plugs will do this and a weak battery can also cause rough running until the system voltage settles back to normal.

The battery is easy to test.
Connect another battery with jump leads and see if the starting problem goes away.
DON'T RUN THE DONOR CAR ENGINE.

Why not - Your using the Donors alternator to Charge your battery up?
Thats how i've had my car jump-started plenty of times with no problems?

As for the "stuttering" when Cold is either Drying HT' leads or wet plugs
Cold air could be in the cyclinders when engine switched off
Hot engine + Cold air = condensation, which plugs DONT like :(
