The anthracite Lancia Beta / Fiat punto cross-over plan!

Do it myself anthracite wheels that look a bit different to everything else.

This is how the old girls arrived. £40 of e.bay and £40 postage for the length of England so ain't too bad I thinks....

Tyres then sold to a chap with a volvo 440 as they're too wide for the Punto for £40.

Little would I know my lazy self would take nearly a year to finish them off...

(Original thanks goes to all contributors to this old thread: https://www.fiatforum.com/tipo/220190-wheel-colour-codes.html cheers to you all!)

The wheels were then cleaned with many chemicals and assorted drill based spinny cleaning devices. The comparison is clear to see on the back of the old cromadoras....

After much cleaning came much filler primer, primer and wet and dry sanding......

My bath still carries the scars of paint along with my wallet for the number of rattle cans used.

Then came finding a vaguely anthracite colour paint to finish off with.

After much mooching about the web and pondering what route to go I discovered I rather liked Pugeot 'Steel Gray'. I have no Idea where this colour came from but it looks ok, bit darker perhaps, but nice and different like I was after.

Several rattle cans later....

And one a bit closer...

This is still inbetween sandings and such. They were eventually finished after several months inbetween working 50+ hours a week, but I wussed out and got them clear coated and baked at a local friendly bodyshop.....

Pictures to follow on the car soon....

owt ot be in the Members Motors Section - Let people the change from fiat to lancia styling

This is more a thread about sourcing and painting your own wheels, in particular relating to a punto. So punto forum seems fitting. I'm not especially interested in people seeing my car. I assume they've seen a punto previously. Although I see your point, really it'll be consigned to history in a few days until someone searches for threads about wheels etc. (Its also tagged as off topic.)
