Just a quick one please chaps.

Done a search on here and from what I can gather the Punto HGT has rear wheel arch liners as standard. Is this correct please?

Been under my car all day today making sure its ready for the salt the council is sure to put on the roads at some stage when I noticed some corrosion behind where the rear wheels are, just on the edge of the vertical flat panel at the bottom if that makes sense?

Bit gutted really as I thought my car was rust free, not true sadly. Its not really bad but could do without it or course. If there is no such thing as rear arch liners then I'm going to make some.

Thanks in advance chaps.

Piks of the rust would help and where you mean

The Wheel arch's unfortunatly Dont stop rust
It traps dirt water salt and grime perfect conditions for the lovely rust factor

Yes the chassis are galvenised, but once the galvenisation has been broken the rust like any other car - takes over :(

Sorry Ziggy, I was that covered in crap from the other work I was doing under there I just couldn't pick up a camera at the time. But I will do when I tackle putting it all right again, most likely next Saturday.

I did a search and someone said their HGT had rear liners which would mean I could buy them from a Stealership. When I looked on eper though there's no mention aside from the little plastic covers that fit towards the bumper.

I take your point about liners trapping crap etc and promoting more rust but as ever I have a plan lol. I'm going to put right what I've found then treat everything to a coat of waxoyl based underseal/grease/younameit before attempting to create a pair of arch liners from thin flexible plastic of some sort, to be determined.

We'll see if this works of course, pics to follow if it does. But I will make sure there is no way crud can get trapped in there Ziggy cos your right about that.

Cheers :)
