Hi

I have a fiat punto 1.2 (02) car that is not starting. When i turn the ignition key it turns over like the battery is dead. It really struggles. The battery that i had was only registering at around 12.2v which i know is really low. so I replaced the battery which is now reading at 12.6v. The car starts fine using jump leads and whist the car is running the alternater is charging the battery at around 14v. Once the car is running its driving fine

Does anyone have any ideas where i can go from here to try and identify the problem :worship:

Thanks

Put a jump lead between battery -ve and engine block to bypass the main earth. Also try jump starting with your battery disconnected (DO NOT run the donor car's engine). If it spins better without your battery you most likely have an internal fault. It could also be the starter is weak but copes better when its being blasted by 2 batteries.

Thanks for the advice. It ended up being the starter motor in the end which luckally it wasnt to expensive to fix. Thanks
