so some of you may know ive started to refurb my fiat alloy, anyway they are going quite well and im just about to start filling and priming. As ive had the tyres already removed, can i remove the weights from the back ? im guessing even if i dont remove these weights the tyres/wheels will still need balancing ? :bang:

am i correct in saying this? also if i do need to get them re-balanced how much is this going to cost approx ?

depends on the wheels and the tyre place..... some use the stick on ones for inside the rims, others use the clip on ones... but they can balance from the rear only so they are out of site. some places will give u an option, so just ask em. unless u have a balancing machine, they will be the ones that have to fit the weights. best left to those who know what they doing to save on tyre wear and safety.

Remove them as above, BUT please specify to the tyre center you want the stick on ones put back on! I've seen some stunning wheels ruined by some clown hammering clip on weights into the rim wall :(

They did it to my Honda, and also to my friends Mercedes but he didn't realize till he got some new tyre's fitted months later by another place and the tyre center was like "who the hell does this"???

PS WD40 removes the glue quite well and wont do harm,

I always say this but at £35 per week I get mine stove enameled. It's much tougher than paint and won't stain with brake dust.
It won't cope with an idiot fitting clip on tyre weights.
