I need an induction kit that will give the most power, torque and noise for my 1.2 8 valve 2001 Punto.

Any ideas lads (and lassies!)

PS what gains can I expect?

Cheers:)

K&N are noisy,
Pipercross are powerful,
Stainless mesh filters give more torque.

But we are talking fractions of an increase.

With a 1.2 8v without a performance exhaust you can expect about 1BHP increase and a substantial rise in insurance. Even with a performance exhaust you might only just get 2BHP.

Nah mate, insurance not fussy if I put an induction kit on! Won't charge me extra.

The main thing I want to do is get rid of the big air box which sits on top of my engine, it acts more like a heat box - after a hard drive (not exactly uncommon!) the box gets very hot and must have quite a large heating effect on the air coming in.

I rekon getting in colder air (even if the engine isn't sucking in any more air than before) should make a difference. Any ideas?

I fitted a Green Twin Cone Induction Kit which cost about £100. There is definately a difference in the performance but it's not blistering. The best thing i did was fit the ecotek valve which smoothed out the power delivery.
When someone creates a new manifold without the catalyst in it then i will buy one and see what difference that makes. I understand that Supersprint are presently developing this exhaust.
