Im thinking of putting a sporting bodykit (front and rear bumper, sideskirts and spoiler) on my Punto mk2. Im after the normal sporting bodykit not the abarth one by the way.

Got a few questions though
Where would I be able to get this from? Is there anywhere to get a new one of these or would I be looking for one from ebay or someone breaking one?

and in that case how would I paint it to my cars' colour? I know it won't be exactly the same colour but how would I paint it, as in would I have to remove the previous colour and sand it all down to make sure the colour sticks? And primer-wise, would I need normal or plastic primer? and as my car is light green and im not sure what colour primer I should use, white, grey or..?

help please thanks :)

ebay and the Forum classified adverts.

Paint is easy - flat the original paint with fine wet & dry used wet, then use a flexible formulation for plastic.

For what it costs its better to get the paint done professionally. Rattle cans will almost certainly look a mess and are not especially low cost.

I wouldn't bother, save your cash and get a better car or even a proper sporting next year or something.

if ur worried about costs and durability of paints etc, cheapest option is to keep an eye out in scrap yards/ebay/FF classifieds for a set the same paint colour bumpers etc. depending on your colour though, it may be a fair old wait. would guess at £300-500+ for both bumpers, skirts and spoiler at a body shop.... but at least u should get a good colour match and the finish will last.

+1 for staying away from rattle cans. I sprayed my spoiler with them, colour match is pretty good, but the finish (gloss/lacquer) wise, it stands out a mile from the rest of the car

same for mine..... colour was slightly different shade, but could just about pass.... the overall finish was good.... but it has started to show signs of deterioration. next time i need to paint bodywork, it will be a bodyshop job unless i can find a colour coded part.

hmm I think it may actually be easier to respray the car and the bodykit with it when I get it.

Ive been thinking about respraying the car anyway so I guess thats what im going to do

Also I don't think I'll be getting any parts of the same colour as my car is light green lol

thanks for the comments though guys
