You may as well replace the top mounts at the same time. Personally, I can't see the point of coil overs for road use: no-one corner weights the car, which is the principle advantage over a decent lowering kit.
cosmetics for the most part. the can cost little more than replacement shocks and springs, so may as well make the most of a customizable stance.
so top mounts and bushes are on the list.... anything else?
either way they will be better than the current state of my current set up so even if they are ****, least there will still be an improvement. i simply dont have numerous 100's of pounds to spend on an overhaul, i am simply limited to a poor mans budget and have to make do. id like a 50mm drop.... but with the roads around here, i may need less of a drop, i may not. least with coilovers i have the option to adjust accordingly.
perhaps, but i aint got them yet, and still may get different ones.... need to find the cash 1st, but either way, this isnt another coilover debate, its a question of what else is needed to accompany them.
i noticed that you said that coilovers are just above the amount for standard but are you forgetting insurance increase? That will be where it gets you i think. Not having a dig i just dont want you to forget about that too
I had my coilovers fitted just before my current insurance ran out, after getting a new quote with a different company I saved just under £400 I think it was so ended up with a much cheaper policy for the year. All declared obviously.
On topic, I didnt need to buy anything else, it just replaces what you already have fitted. One thing you will need though is to have your wheels aligned after you have the height you want. This only costs a max of £30 though.
