Technical windscreen wiper problem

Recently we had to renew the windscreen wiper linkage and motor on a 03 punto, however, since doing this, when turning the ignition key the windscreen wipers start moving for approx 3 wipes and do not return to the correct park position. Turn the key again to start the engine the same happens again.

The garage said it could be the wiper turret and wants £250 to replace.

Can anyone help please?

how recent is recent?

if you had it done at a garage it should be under warranty so take it back to them

new motor from new or a used one?
if used was it from same model of punto? mk2 and mk2b are wired different
