certain rummors suggest that air con uses fuel is this true? and has any one noticed this with air con on?

Of course it uses fuel Running a air con unit is very fuel-expensive.

Obviously makes a larger difference to economy on a small engine. WIll try to find you some figures.

Yeah aircon uses the engine for power (for the cooler??) The revs rise when its turned on. Have seen this happen on othr non-Fiat cars, mine doesn't have aircon.

ummmmmmmmmmm im a bit broke at the moment so il just have to wind down the windows if i get to hot

yep winding down window inease drag in the air there for usingmore fuel also you will just have to sweat it out

lol fish.... Don't turn on your fans either (even without aircon) as this will also use power

Yes at $200 a definite money-saver!

Yes air con definately use extra fuel as on my dads scenic 1.8 16v with climate control it makes quite a difference if using it, although the climate system automatically uses the air con to demist the windows although it does do it in a minute or less

Also when abroad we hired a daewoo matiz 800cc with air con and we used to call it the turbo button as when your going up a bank with air con on it would start struggling so press the button to turn it off and all of a sudden it would have enough power, it is a great feature to have though id love it in my next car
