got a delocked/wipered tailgate on route as we speak and plan on fitting it, hopefully over the weekend. just curious to how easy it is to remove and refit it? will i need a helper? (im assuming i will, but could make life a little easier if i dont have to pester the mrs to help) any tips/pointers i should know? thanks.

The transport damage issue is probably due the sender for not packing it properly. The courier wont cover for that.

Seriously - dont try to DIY repair it one false move and it will be totally ****ed. Get a pro panel beater to take a look - he might be able to repair it with minimal paint damage.

I have no idea, but if you try to DIY and **** it up the costs will be even worse. Many times a good panel man can fix dings and dents if they are new and no-one has tried to "improve" it.

Mate i changed by boot last week by coincidence!

Its not a difficult job, 20 minutes with a helper.

The tricky bit is to get your existing wires for lock and wiper down the left hand side of the boot. If the wires on the new boot are already there then kind of tie the new ones to it and pull the whole thing through. Its proper tight down the side so take it easy - dont go ripping a wire! :bang:

Then its just 2 hinges at top. The new boot has probably got them attached but I recommend using your existing hinges as they are aligned plus you don't have to pull your ceiling lining down to access the removal bolt. If they don't line up perfect with the new boot then you can carefully tear the lining away from the roof and loosen the bolt and wiggle it side to side but you shouldn't need to.

Get one hydraulic fitted first to take 50% of the weight then do all the adjustments.

Peace
