Hi all,

I think i finally got the software working with my lead to connect up to the ECU and the faults are as follows:
p0704 - transmission gear sys (5)
p1555 -
p0235 - boost pressure

all faults say there not a current fault but when i reset them they don't clear i gather i have to buy the complete version of the software to do that?

Also it says " invalid ISO Code" now i've read that this means its the wrong ecu but i've tried all 3 that are closest to my car but there all the same, I'm i doing something wrong?

many thanks

Jason

ECU and body computer and immobiliser on Mk2 are all linked so swapping any part that is not from the car's original set will cause problems. Probably the immob has been bypassed to allow it to run.

i've loaded up the software and there's 2 99 12v ecu's also there's an 03 12v ecu as well car is an 03 but its the older shape

ok, but the faults won't clear i've just tried it again and the engine light is still on and the faults are still there, do i need to change a sensor?

have you sorted this problem as i have exactly the same faults etc and could do with putting it right, the gearbox on mine has started clicking when the brake is touched is this relevant

Think those codes relate to transmission/auto gearbox.

P0704 - clutch switch input circuit malfunction
P1555 - something to do with speed and idle regulation?
P0235 - turbo boost sensor A malfunction

Auto gearbox controller is connected via the CANBus. The free software doesn't do CANBus (neither do the cheap leads - you need an "Elm" type). That said, I would have thought that you wouldn't be able to read the auto gearbox codes either.

Changing the subject, gearbox clicking when touching brakes can be the rear engine/transmission mounting coming loose.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for jumping in with my problems, the car is a 2000 Mk2 16v punto speedgear (auto) and the clicking comes under the gear lever every time the brake is touched. I have removed the gear knob and selector lever cover and can see what looks like an actuator clicking (opening/shutting) when the brake is touched causing the clicking , the other faults are the same as Daisy44 1st posting and again when i am driving and touch the brake or sometimes indicate i get the dash showing drive then reverse and it beeps and the gearbox light flashes

Richyx,

Suggest you start a new thread with words like "auto", "gearbox" or "speedgear" in the title. Presume there are folk here who know about that stuff.
