hi there,
has anyone got any information on or where to get colour coded rear lights for a mk2 punto. I have a astral blue punto active and would love to get a set of these lights in black tint. i have seen pictures of them on google but there is no info on where to get them. the closest i can get are the black cluster lights but these dont really appeal to me. any help that you could give would be great, thanks for your time,

Drew

the only lights you can buy for the mk2 are the lexus ones, and the 3d ones which come in chrome and black and are not very pretty.
if your after colour coding them tinting spray is the way.
tho do remember to remove your lights first ;-)as i have a friend who didnt and now has a two colour car.lol

Hi Drew

Check out this mk2 with the black cluster lights, or lexus lights ;) Its user Punto1.2_motorsport's:

I think it looks great (y)

that punto does look amazing, same colour as mine, even has the skirts i am after, any one know what ones they are on there? also where can you get this tinting spray from an would it effect the visibility of the lights? would it be advisable to get them sprayed profesionally? lol sorry about all the questions, as you can see im pretty new at this. thanks again, Drew

They are the standard Sporting skirts, you can get them from www.tuning.co.uk/fiatshop

You can get the tinting spray from halfords/motorworld etc. I tried tinting mine- totally f***ed it up and ended up buying the remover which was an extra 10quid. If you're good at things like this go for it, remember lots of thin coats ;) The bodyshop will most likely do a better job though.

Tinting only affects the lights in the day- they're harder to see. If you do them too dark you'll get stopped all the time and the reflector still needs to be showing for them to be legal.

Right i cant find anywhere locally that will do mt lights so i think i will have a pop at doing them my self. Once i have taken my lights off, do i spray the inside or outside of them? and also how do i get it to leave a shiny glossy finish as i dont reallt want a matt look? lastly is there an easy way of removing the tint should suomthing go wrong. thanks again, cheers, drew

You spray the outside of the lens.

If the tint goes wrong you could use thinners, but when I used that it made the light a dull. like a cloudy colour. So I went and bought the proper stuff from Halfords and used that.

I havnt seen a tinted light that has a really shiny finish, most have been duller. But to get the best effect use lots of very light coats, if you put too much on all the tint spray will get stuck in the grooves on the light- it happened to me when I tried.

Gd luck!

well did my lights yesterday and they came out excellent, could do with a few more coats to darken them up thurther, they came ut with a strange shiny yet matt finish which looks really nice and goes with the bump strips and the other plastic bits. thanks for all your help on the matter
