Ok, So I have a mk2b punto, but really do not like the fact that one button on the key fob does both unlocking and locking. I fear that I have pressed the button in my pocket when walking away from the car or something..

Anyway. How easy would it be to make a 500 key fob work?
Something like this:

I currently have this key fob:

Not necessarily a 500 key, I know the Grande Punto has a newer style key.. Just something with two or more buttons really!
Or am I asking the impossible?

That type of key wont work with your Punto key..

you need to match the style of blade so they are the same. you have the Pointy blade whereas the 500 use the flat blade.

dont think they do flippy keys in your blade style.

mine is a flat blade, like the 500 one above, does this mean it will work ?

cant get a ppic as ive lost my phone cable

mine is like this but with a groove cut out the middle

If the blade has a flat end and looks identical in size to the blade on the 500 key (later puntos like mk2b) then it will work. But you need to remove the chip from your fob to put in the 500key. Not surebif you can program the unlock to work though. But if you use the key transponder the your Ecuador Immobilizer should read it.

I've been wanting to do it will a Nouvo Bravo fob. But its the hastle of cutting out the chip to get it too work.

I have a 54 plate mk2b, but I have the old key :( When did they change them over:confused:

I'm not really sure what you're saying there... Is it possible to program a key with two buttons (given you use the original keys encrypted transponder) to work with unlock / lock functions?

I don't really want to put in an immobiliser extension and have a third party key fob kit.. I'd like if possible to keep the original fiat alarm system (that I'm still not convinced works if I'm honest, but that's a separate issue :bang:)

I thought I might have been asking the impossible (n)

I have never had a problem with mine. More buttons = more to go wrong.

The new key would look nice but buttons can still get pressed by accident. Just be careful until well away from the car.
