Hey everyone.

Next year I am hoping to take my punto off the road for a well earned break.

But heres the kicker...I need to turn the little Punto 60s (99) into RWD.

Then its bodywork yada yada yada!

Are there any direct fit parts i.e straight bolt on or easily moddified to fit or do I need to break out the plasma cutter?

Plasma cutter and welder needed.

Are you planing front, mid or rear engined?

As for Making it a proper RWD - Sell the punto and get a RWD car
The hassel and problems of getting power to the rear aint worth it

rats! front engine but again, its not going to run a standard fiat engine hopefully

It'll be exceptionally difficult, but should be possible: there was a factory Mk1 Punto with an Integrale engine and drive train.

grab a RWD back axel of a car you like with diff and shaft ect...then cut and weld onto your punto axel until sits how it should

find a different gearbox capable of sending the power through a transfer box down the proper shaft that will bolt on....but if you change eninge then just get an engine with compatible gearbox/diff

There's even a kit to do it. You'd think they'd come up wit a better engine than a Busa, though....................

But that way avoids all the issues with a propshaft, etc. And it isn't exactly an everyday car!

I don't want to be that boring person.. But you do know the legalities of registering something like this? It would need a BIVA (and be allocated a Q, not that that's a bad thing, more a badge of honour!) as you'll need to modify the monocoque. Is the Fiat Coupe RWD? if so would it make a good doner rear end ?

I'm looking at the legalities now and know its a ball ache but needs must.

Currently the car is in process of being an SPL monster so should be ready to a good tear down in a year!

Fiat Coupe is FWD- there hasn't been a RWD Fiat for a long time.

Or google Puntograle (not near a pc so cant put the link up!) its a mk1 with Delta Integrale running gear grafted to fit
