iv got a 52 plate punto active n the engine light and drivers airbag light is on also when i been driving for say 10 .20 mins when i stop there a burning smell coming from the engine the gage only goes up half way and the fan does work im just puzzled wot this could be?

Guage Going half-way up and fan activating is a good sign - the cooling system is still working fine

the airbag Light - onlyway to get that sorted is to get the fault code read

EML is again only sortable with knowing what it thinks is wrong.....
Again if you get the Diagnostic Software (free version) and let us know what fualt codes it has - we'll be able to point you in a much more direct direction

ok cheers will do that asap also where can i get one of these leads from for the diognostic and where does it plug into as im not that mechanical with cars i just know a lil bit? cheers

The plug is behind the Kick pannel (by your right nea if RHD)
Undo the 2 screws at top with a Coin

And at the bottom of the Fuse Board - there is a plug socket which is about 4cm by 2cm at the very bottom

i've had similar problems in the past.
I found a small leak of oil was dripping onto the exhaust, not enough oil to make any smoke but enough to make a burning smell

Until it got worse and the car looked like it was on fire with TONS of white smoke (THICK white smoke) coming from everywhere Ahhhh

Person in the car behind just happened to have a fire extingister in there car and ran out with it - "Good Days" - 1-2 years ago now
