This morning, I start my car, no problems, but i have no electrical power, no lights, no radio and the dash only lights up were the clock is, any ideas? All was fine last night when i drove home :bang:

Mass Fuse Murder?
A Completely Random earthing fault just reared its ugly head?
Something is draining all the electrical power - so nothing works? Surly tho it'd work a few mins later

I'd be checking the fuses first - and then getting on with getting all the earthing Points - removed - Cleaned up with a Wirewool / Dremel - Slapping lots of copper grease on it - the refitting Nice and tight

This is the crazy thing, if there was a big drain the car wouldn't start or turn over, but it started first time, didn't even struggle, there's a power supply to the dials, speedo, rev counter, thermostat and fuel guage work, the clock and the trip computer work, but no dash warning lights lit when you first switch the ignition on, no radio and no lights! I'll probably go to start the car again and it'll all be fine :bang:

The Dash doesn't light up at all - but the clock is still there?
Could forwell be a dodgey connection to the clocks behind them - its a 10min job to get them out the check the connection

But i'd be looking at a mass earthing fault tbh honest - but seems weird they just randomly failed - normally its an intermittent fault earthings cause

Thats what i don't understand, The clock, and the display behind it light up, the trip computer still works but no dash warning lights, i'm taking it to the garage for a rocker cover gasket change and might ask him to look over it, my electrical knowledge is approximately nought!

it'll be a loose conection somewhere or a damaged wire/conection. a temp thing...

i.e. the conection may heat up - possibly melt the conection, over a few trys the melted plastic will deform and move until either the conection is made again or something else....

Just a thought(y)

Cheers, it's going into the garage on friday for a rocker cover gasket so it's gonna get looked at then, fingers crossed it's something nice and simple ;)

Get the Earths Cleaned :)
made Easy if you happen to have a Dremel :)
I Cleaned mine up - it was a wonder everything still worked!!

£3 copper grease tube - and A few spanners and you could eliminate the easiest solution :)

It'll be cheaper then having the mechanic do it - as he'll be paid by the hour todo it
