Technical Bush has gone again!! Third Time

Hi mate,

Which ever bush it is, if its popping out it MUST be replaced, otherwise it will just keep popping out. The ARB bushes are only about £12 So just fit a new one and you wont have to worry about it any more (y)

Im in Nechells.
You may have seen it about. I think I added a pic to the gallery.

Its Silver with FIAT on both rear side windows, with Sporting badge slanted.

Hi guys,
I didnt get the car sorted on Friday or today, but today theres been a family emergency, my mums uncle has had a heart attacked and I need to take her to manchester.

Do you think this bush will hold to manchester and back?

Hmm maybe not mate, It probably better to find anther car to take or get a taxi. Better to do that then get stuck half way in the middle of nowhere and have to wait for recovery. Thats what i would do anyway.

Although i suppose you know how often it pops out, and it should mostly be flat smooth motorway driving.

Hi all,
I have attached photos to this post, hopefully you can tell me what diameter this bush is.

I went to 3 garages and all saying they want to install a new wishbone :(

As you can see on the image, the rubber bush has come out of the metal holder.

Hi mate,

Its just the anti-roll bar bush. Order a new one from shop4parts.co.uk. They are only about 8 quid. Its the whole bit, rubber bush AND metal retainer. No point in trying to find a different bush that fits. And the wishbone doesnt need replacing unless they are saying there is something else wrong with it?

Alan

EDIT - Go on www.shop4parts.co.uk in the search bar at the top type in S4P2447. If you donate to fiat forum you will get access to a code to get 10% off you order.

Plus a new wishbone won't come with the antiroll bar mounting anyway, so you'll be no further forward in fixing it.

Hi the wishbone does not need replacing.

He didnt even have a look at the damn car before he said that :'(

I just described what the problem was and even said it was the bush.

Trying to rip me off I guess.

Thing is, most A/R/Bars are attached at the shock via droplinks so if you simply mentioned "the bush on the wishbone", most average mechanics would assume you're talking about the wishbone mounting bushes (and the labour involved in removing the wishbone, pressing out the old bush and refitting, is often greater than simply fitting a complete wishbone).

And on may cars you cant get the bare bushes so have to fit the wishbone. Not always the mech's fault. Though the bloke who just pushed the thing back is a knob.

Hi guys,
Just to let you know I bought the bush from Europarts. £13.50
And had it installed by the mechanic for £10

5min job.

Thanks for your help and I hope this post helps others.
