just got a cable to connect laptop to my ecu for diagnostics , downloaded the fiatecuscan software an cannot connect to it just get a no responce from ecu message any1 got any idea whats goin on
yer mate i tried turning it bak off aswel an waitin 10 seconds inbetween turning it back on , i been reading about it on that fiatecuscan site an looks like you got to mess about bodging wires round pins on the cable :S looks an sounds stupid to me
What cable do you have, both the k-line (VagCom) and the ELM 327 should work unmodified on the mk2/2B Engine ECU but you will need to modify it for airbags and abs etc but its not hard at all
does ur laptop register the fact the cable is connected? have u got the latest drivers for the cable? have u put the latency to the lowest and changed the port to the correct one?
interface is the communications between the software and hardware. silly question, but is the cable plugged in right? its a pain to get in i found. does ur cable have a light on it that is illuminated when its plugged in?
took me a while to connect to mine. update drivers, setting all correct, and a lot of patience. if its all as it should, im not sure why it wont connect. just try playing with the setting on both fiatecuscan and ur device settings.
yea i did i also tried it in the other settings,, iv tried vcds-lite too that the guy off ebay sent me and thats saying port ok interface found . but yu can only choose vw's skodas an seat on that program.. its gota be that cable surely
im at a loss to why it wont work then. other than a few teething problems when i first tryed to connect, its done the job fine for me. maybe someone else has any ideas? i cant think what else to try.
no worries mate thanks for tryin tho ,, iv found a cable thats specificly for fiats an alfa's its got a 4 way stitch to connect to power steering an abs etc 30 so might give that a wherl if i do an that workd ill re post to let you no weatheer or not thats done the trick
plug the cable into the car first and make sure it lights up, then connect to the computer having made sure you've got the latest ftdi drivers installed first.
Then check the comm port number and then make sure you've selected the correct ecu.
mine doesnt have a light on it unfortunetly .. where do i get the drivers i went to my device manager an tried updating that way and it said windows has determined your drivers are up to date dont no if thats right tho you guys might no different as to how to update them
