Hi Guy's

My poor little Punto has become a victim of this terrible weather we're all having.

Ice and snow two/three inches thick has gathered on my back window, and has pushed the wiper arm really out of position. To hopefully prevent it from being broken altogether, I'd like to remove the wiper arm, but I don't know how to do this.

Can anybody help please? :chin:

Faye and Lily-Rose

Anyway, rather than removing the rear wiper arm, I would first remove most of the snow and ice that's there at the moment, and then when the car is stationary just leave the wiper sticking out, i.e. not touching the rear windscreen, as if you were going to replace it. Then when you want to use the car, clear off the snow and ice first and pop it back on the windscreen...

to remove the arm u need left the cap up on the left of the wiper and remove the 10mm bolt and the fold the arm up give it a pull and its off (y)

I just left mine in the vertical position by turning the electrics off while the wiper is going. means that it doesn't get damaged from the snow

just remember the remove any built up snow before turning the ignition on restart or your wiper will reset and move the snow or possibly damage the wiper motor

mine has suffered as well:(

I've not used the rear wiper recently coz i need a new blade but the weight of the snow and ice etc seems to be pushing the whole arm down:( doesn't look as smart now(n)

Wipers are intended to shift a little water. Why would anyone expect them to cope with inches of snow.

Just in case anyone wants to try - hot water on the glass soon shifts snow & ice and it's the perfect way to blow the screen out.

But the wipers will still be OK.

Oh yes! saw a bloke this morning. Nice hot kettle Oh yes I'll soon be off.

Scrape, scrape, pour... Keer-RACK. Oh Booger.

Another one sat spinning his wheels on our sloping road. Got fed up and left his car badly parked. He only needed to roll back 30 yards onto level ground. Today at least we had one less useless wotsit to get everyone's way

That remind me :ROFLMAO:
I got a kettle full of HOT water to try and melt the ice on our drive way 2.3:1 grad going up..

I go to pout the water out and yet none of it reached the ground.:p

A wasted, full 2L kettle :p - this was last year when it was -double figures - cant remember what it was

Hot water would add to the problem. Salt wont melt much below about 8C but by then the ice isnt so slippery. Just put some gritty sand on the icy path.

Ending up using s sledge hammer to break the ice then a shovel to move it:D
- last year though, when it was quite bad, or mabey the year b4 that. When London had 1-2 feet of snow, recently (Within past 4-5 years):p

saw this down bottom of village where i live

A BEND REAR WIPER that every1 is going on about

BTW de-wiper rules :p
