Iv got punto 1.2 8v x reg. It was running just perfect. One morning I started engine and started to drive ( music was loud ) so I can't say was there a funny noise once its started but, after about 500meters engine started to choke, so I turned around and parked near house, once I rev It over 2.5k you can hear sound like tik tik tik tik tik there's no tik tik noise while its on low revs but whole engine shakes a lot ....

Iv took it to the garage guy told me there is no compression in one of the cylinders and only to have a look what's the problem need to take all engine apart ( 300 pounds  ) ok so Iv decided to try fix it my self.

Could anyone give me some advice what should I do ? so far I have taken of engine head iv spined it manual and you can hear like air going out from one of cylinders while it makes pressure in it. Best info I found here is <<<<<www.fiatforum.com/punto/236000-fiat-punto-2000-mk2-1-2-8v-tuning-i-know.html>>>> so I know how to take it apart. but question is do I move right way?

Did the mechanic do a compression test on your engine,
as an engine can vibrate for more reasons then a blown
CHG.

As to moving in the right direction, correct diagnostics
is stage one, dismantling is stage two, preparation to
rebuild is stage three, rebuilding it correctly so it works
is the final stage.

If it is the piston rings that have gon witch it sounds like due to no compression, then its a full engine rebuild :bang: like striping the topend down and keeping everything in order for each cylinder and witch hole it came out of ect then oil drain and sump off and take out the offending piston`s and repaceing the rings and keping everything in order (witch is a must!) and then rebuilding the topend.
If its the valve seats that are the suspect the get the valves re seated and new ones put in, Hope this helps ya (y)

Take off the cam belt cover and see if its stripped enough teeth to mess up the cam timing. On an 8V that's a cheap and easy fix. If that's ok do a cylinder compression test and work out if its valves or pistons. You said it happened suddenly so maybe its valves but from here that's guesswork at best.

A blown head gasket will also lose compression. Not a megabux repair job, but you need to find out where the coolant leaked out before it blew.
