hey im new to this site and after some help i think my hand brake needs tightening does anyone have any ideas how i do it. my car is a fiat punto 55 reg and im usless with cars lol please help. thanks x x

well, the mk2 has a thread u can tighten under the ashtray surround in the rear of the handbrake console but not sure on a mk1.
if it needs tightening though, it could be worth checking the condition of the brakes 1st.

I don't trust my handbreak either, always leave it in gear!

my car was serviced in feb brakes where checked and where fine. if i was to take it to a garage do u no how much roughly it would cost to get fixed? sorry really usless when it comes to cars lol. or is it easy to tighten it myself?
