Hello all!

I currently own a Mk2 8V ELX. I would like to upgrate to a 16V Sporting.

Can you all tell me if I should?
Is the performance difference noticable?

Basically I need to convince myself to buy a Sporting so if anyone can advise me on how they differ and if I should go ahead and sell up?

Thanx Simon

'kin hell mate. How many times do you want to post about Mk2 Sportings??!

Yes, they're good. Yes, they're quicker than all the other Punto's (apart from HGT & GT). Yes, I would prefer one over an ELX. Yes, you will notice the difference over an ELX.

Just get one and quit going on about it!!

:D :D :D

8v 60bhp versus 16v 80bhp. 96mph v 109 (ish). 0-60 in 14.6 v 11 (ish).

Say no more, apart from the rock-hard ride in the Sporting that will shake your fillings (get a JTD instead, you know it makes sense ;) )

lol, I keep asking because I am 18 and have recently got this car. (8V ELX)

I want more power/better sporting spec but family and friends keep saying what I have got is good. It is good BUT I WANT BETTER!

Thats why i keep asking. I just wana know if its worth it. Thats all. The bother/selling/buying etc

Thanx anyway

It's worth it if you want faster. But it costs more and as soon as the insurance people see the word sporting you're going to be paying a lot more. If you can afford it then it's all good.

Dr P's right - If you can afford it, then it's all good I reckon.

Mine's a group 7 which, while it isn't particularly high, will probably kill you if you're 18!

The ride's not THAT hard!

sporting has 6speed box ooo-err :) good fr mention when talkintg about cars. 1st and 2nd are a lower ratio for brisker pull away. while 6th is nice cruising gear mpg is still great unless you caine it of course. and yeah ride is lil bit hard in sporting its a bitch on teh back country roads i hae to drive on each day to get home
