Hi guys!

I'm having a few problems with my front wiper the last couple of days (- 2002 Punto).

It works fine on the first and second speed, but the third speed doesn't work (and when it does, it only goes the same as the second speed).

Now first I thought this was the signs of the motor going but we only got it replaced (with a brand new wiper motor) in April. Could this just be a dodgy motor or is it something else causing the problem? And if it is the motor, are the garage that fitted it in any way responsible for this seeing as it was fitted less than 7 months ago (and the wipers were barely used over the summer). Any ideas??

Possibly a two speed motor has been fitted instead of a three.

Right, so turned on the car this evening and its working ok....for now.

Asked two mechanics (one was servicing the car today). Both say that it sounds like a "motor problem rather than switch etc. and its probably somethin to do with the contacts being eroded away." One of them said that seeing as the brand new motor went after 7 months, it is still under gurantee (he said new parts should have a 12month gurantee). Does this sound about right?

Have a wedding coming up this week (not mine) and hoping they stay ok for that long! :bang:

You should have a parts warranty from the garage that supplied it.
