Strange problem,

I did a swap from 1.2 8v to 1.4 16v (843a1000), it works well but the ecu needs speedo signal from abs, not longer from speedsensor on the tranny, so I bought the wiring from the engine fuse box to the bodycomputer, the whole abs crap and put it into my car..

But abs still don´t work.. I can´t connect to abs ecu with fiatecuscan.. and the abs light is always on. Reading (engine) ecu faultcode, it says canbus error (I can´t remember the correct error usage).

I did a proxy alignment a few weeks ago, with no abs ecu connected (there was no abs light flashing before the alignment, because the gauges are still from 1.2 8v !) does it have to be aligned again with connected abs ecu!?

Without ABS, the CAN lines terminate in the EFI ECU. When ABS is fitted, the CAN terminates there instead.

You can try a proxi alignment as an easy first attempt and it may work, but there may be other issues to solve.
