my girlfriends punto seems to scrub on full lock...i thought it was because of it have wheels from a brava but when ive taken a look at them there the same size as sporting alloys, after spending a few mins swearing and scratching my head, i saw that the angle of the alloys are wrong they just dont look right, its like there sitting like \ (n/s/f wheel) and / (o/s/f wheel) problem is i dont know how to fix it......HELP

Get your tracking set up at a garage. Even sh**fit should manage tracking fine!

If the OP means the wheel tops are leaning outwards at the top this is normal and they will move to leaning in at the top on full bump. Tracking wont change this. Lowering the suspension will make the wheels sit more vertical with a small drop to looking broken on full drop.

no i mean the wheel tops are leaning inwards i mean if you picture looking at the front of a punto, look at the passanger wheel and its sitting like \ thats what i mean

If the steering behaves normally and its the same both sides dont worry about it. If however its handling sloppy, changed suddenly and/or is not the same on each side get the suspension checked out.

QuickFit etc are fine for wheel tracking but go to a local garage for suspension work. Ideally get recommended to one.

Wheels scrub on full lock. Thats why he asked (y)

What width and offset are the wheels btw? Could be the offset causing them to scrub. May need spacers

OP also said

Which would be positive camber.

Generally that causes less wheel scrub than negative camber. Wheel spacers are only needed with fat wheels & the tyre inner edge is hitting the chassis.

But, f its scrubbing a bit without spacers - it will be scrubbing like mad with spacers.

There's probably nothing wrong as the geometry goes off at full lock. But if in doubt get a garage to look at it.

Not meaning to get arsy with you Bred honest - the question/problem isnt clear..

Assuming he's looking at the front of the car that suggests (to me) out at the tops \ / (positive). But Bred see's it the other way. So what does the OP actually mean?

And whatever he does mean if the wheels really are scrubbing badly he should get the car professionally checked out as all we can do is make a good guess.

I know it wasn't clear. I was just making sure you were getting it the right way because tbh it's more likely for me to make a stupid reading error :p I do do it all the time!
But I thought same as you untill he posted post 6 which says the top of the wheels are leaning inwards towards the car.
Either way it does need a garage to check tracking is right. (y)

sorry if i didnt make it clear but this quote is right, im taking it to get looked at tomorrow and all i know about the wheels at the moment is it has 15's on it will post more info tomorrow...thanks already guys

When there is no other vehicle involved, cars going off the road means either the driver couldn't cope or there was something mechanically wrong with the car.

Unless you flick the wheel quickly and just right counter-steering will usually cause an oversteer and throw you off on the same side as the bend. Add some panic braking mid-bend & it all goes pearshaped very quickly.

then after it going pearshaped a trip to the dry cleaners for your boxers is in order
