General Changing light bulbs

The owners manual has a pretty good (but basic) description. It can depend on the model though, as I can't change the dipped bulb on my JTD as the air filter is in the way and I'm a nancy when it comes to removing bits of engine :)

There should be some black plastic covers at the rear of the light fitting with metal clips holding them in. Simply undo the clips and voila!

chaning the bulbs is a pain in the ass depending on wich one. it is. if its drivers side then its easy there are 2 clips you und and then pull back off. then you release the bulb and change without touching the bulb of course.

if its the passenger side the problem is teh lack of space, when i done mine i loosend the fuse box and moved it back wich gave me just enogh room, allthough i did lose the skin on my knuckles. other on here have unbolted the light and pulled it forward.

I tried loosening the fusebox and loosening the actual headlight unit but still found that the room was still tight. If you feel confident in removing the front bumper then do so. Should take about 15mins to remove the bumper, change the bulbs and re-fix the bumper.

Stupid design from Fiat. the thing that is gonna need changed most on a car and they hide it behind a bumper :( lol

I managed to do it with removing the fuse box cover and loosening the box itself a bit. My knuckles were a bit sore afterwards but I got the bulb out and replaced it OK - but there was a bit of swearing ;)

As stated, it does depend on the model though.

On my active sport (with foglights) I found it easiest to just remove the bolts holding the passenger side unit and pull it forward a bit. Drivers side is easy enough though.

On my girlfriend's active though, for some reason it wasn't as easy to pull the light forward on the passenger side.

Do you have the integrated foglights?

Everything everywhere says that it should be H7 for the Punto but mine are H1.

Contrary to the "I'm sure they won't be" comments from the "expert" bulb retailers.

Where did you get your bulbs?

yep mines def. H1, the bloke i got mine off has only got osram "cool blue" left in H1, he will swap them for the silverstar H7, but dose anyone know if the cool-blue are any good.

Mr Coats - cheers for the help (y)
