First of all hi to everyone, new member here, and a proud owner of my first Fiat Punto 1.2 ELX, smashing little car. Just passed my drivers test yesterday..

My question is

What size are the windscreen wipers on the car. Are the drivers side and passenger side diffrent sizes ?

I have looked online and found the passenger side is 16" but the drivers side is 18" ? is this so please, i dont want to spend money on something that may be wrong.

Welcome to the forum, have you concidered using a tape measure? This would be the easiest and most likely quickest way to see how big they are.

I have, both are 16 inches on my car , but the site i was looking at had.
16 inches for the passenger, and 18inches for the driver side.
I was wondering if they are right before i spend cash on them ?

I called the main dealer and the chap said it is the measurement i thoiught it was, 18 inches for the driver and 16 for the passenger.

Offside: 18
Rear: 14 (I think)

Which year is it? My MK2 is 22 on the drivers side and 16 on the other.

To be honest, that could just be somebody grabbing the first two wipers they could off the shelf lol

So long as it clears the screen properly, does it really matter? lol

Thats the trouble, it does not clean the screen and it sort of judders over the screen, very annoying and offputting

You tried cleaning the blades with some vinegar on a rag?

i use 22 inch drivers side and 19 inch passenger side on my mk2 i think that is what its supposed to be

There is a guide somewhere on how to fix the juddering

No i've not tried vinegar, yet, , will do though.
Any ides where the guide is, The nice chap at the garage where i purchased it is going to have a look at it for me tomorrow. I want ne wipers on it, The ones on it now are cheap chatty things, they also keep sliding out of the runner part of the wiper, ggrrrrrrr

It's a pretty simple DIY job, taking me less than half an hour from start to finish

Got it sorted now.In a flash of inspiration my hubby remembered a pair of wipers in his work shed, one of them still in the wrapper, he changed them over for me and hey presto, like magic no shuddering and a much better sweep of the screen. Still going to get the recommended 22 inch for the driver side, i now have an 18 inch on the passenger side, Pleased as punch, saved a few pounds thanks to my hubby.

Hi, as said 22 drivers & 18 passenger, I've found Tesco wipers are Ok £3 each for the normal ones, get a spare blade longer than the rear wiper cut off the ends of the rubber to the same size of the rear remove old rubber & slide new into the old wiper arm as the rear wiper is only available as a complete unit (arm & wiper blade)which means removing the whole arm & wiper blade from the boot lid.

I'm going to Halfords tomorrow for a 22 inch, I'll do that with the spare blade, great money saving tip, thanks a lot yet again.

£18 for the pair, all done and dusted, thanks for everyones help and advice. I appreciate it.

When i changed my wipers i bought approximate size, so the are different size from original and drivers is 2'' larger from passengers. And it works great, you cant make a mistake there, the problem is when wipers are too large
