i hear that you just pull the A pillar trims off is this true??

Hi Brin,

The A pillers are just held on with clips, so they pull off. Be carefull not to snap them though.

As for the dash... its a big job and there are LOTS of fixing points. Its also worth mentining, that you will need to diconnect the airbags, so obv safety first, make sure the battery has been disconnected for 20 mins before you disconnect them, and DONT connect the battery again untill they are all back in and connected.

On the top of the dash, near where the windscrreen vents are, there are 3 plastic pannels that hide 3 bolts for the top of the dash.

Youw ill also need to remove the centre console with the heater, fan switches on etc (see guides sectin for this)

There are 3 (iirc) bolts behind the steering column cover (steering wheel and covers need to be removed)

There are 2 bolts along the bottom of the dash, one on eather side, near the rubber door seal.

There is 2 bolts behind the centre console at the bottom near the gear stick.

Think thats it  lol

Hope that helps,
Alan

Hi Brin,

Can you take pix and post them as a guide? Words probably not needed - anyone doing this sort of stuff will have some engineering nouse. :)

I'd particularly like a pic of the drivers airbag wiring (yellow). Mine has been disconnected and I cant find the wire that goes to the steering column, so pix of the dash stripped out would be a big benefit.

yep no probs mate...my cam is broken at the moment but will be gettin blackburry next week so will take pics on that:)

BTW i got the A pillar trims off...was just a case of poping them outta the clips very simple:) no clips broken...i sprayed them black look much better now all colour coded....also removed the sun visors and door sills

If they are polypropylene paint might not stick. The plastic has to be flamed and sprayed with a special tack primer then primed & painted. The methods works on small parts but not so cool on really big stuff - struggle to get an even coat.

ah i wondered why i kept getting white spots on my pillars and my doorcards when i sprayed them ages ago lol

sorted out tho...3 coats of primer and quite a lot of paint...then laquer to seal it all and its fine now plus the doorcard that i sprayed ages ago are still holdin up good :)

I once did a bike top case quite a faff but it worked. Getting a floppy yellow flame on the blowlamp was "interesting".
