Hey guys, done a search but couldnt find the answer (using a very slow phone as my internet atm)

As some of you may know I had my window smashed in on my car, found out it would be cheaper to replace the whole boot. Would a normal 3dr boot from a mk2 Punto fit my mk2 Punto Sporting? Or am I needing to look specifically for a Sporting boot?

Im not fussed about it having a spoiler since ill just re-fit mine, boot locks same story. Just wanted to make sure before spending the little hard earned cash I have (y)

Cheers!

When i bought my 3dr punto. I was told the back boot window was smashed into and the back panel was silver whilst the rest of my car is red. They said it was cheaper to replace the whole thing instead of just the glass panel so it most likely is and i think the got it from a different 3dr model.

Its also worth checking if your insurance will cover the cost of the replacemnt of the glass, depending on how it happened etc of course.

Insurance can hammer the no claims so maybe cheaper to fit a used door. Get it painted first so you can cover all the awkward edges.

Very true, was thinking more along the lines of how some fully comp policies have glass cover which doesnt effect your no claims. Worth checking but im pretty sure it wont be covered.

Just going to give this a bump, I got myself a boot but couldnt find any info on how to replace it? Or am I being dense and its just abc? Got the whole day free tomorrow to have a play anyway but any pointers would be great.

Cheers.

Ok, managed to get the boot on thanks to some friends help fitting, but the boot wont catch close, we transfered the lock from the original boot to the new one but no luck :(

Does it have anything to do with the wiring, is it done electrically? as I noticed the 'door open' light on the dash does'nt display or is it just a sensor that shows the light?

As far as we can see, they align up fine. If anyone can shed some light on this would be a star, cant drive around with the boot open and its tipping it down here (n)
