Yes, immobiliser should be fine. But just check if you have a spark. The ECU prevents spark aswell as the fuel pump priming
Hey could that be the cause? Dry fuel tank - trying to start the car - overheated pump?
Ahh I forgot about that aswell. I know the mk1 has it but does the mk2 have one? I don't ever remember seeing it.

the switch next to the passenger seat seems clicked in but then again I've never seen it popped up to know if it's down. I've tried pressing it and noting happens.
YAY! Thats what I wanted to hear, I hate immobilisers in any car, lets face it if someone is gonna nick it then it's gone. That's why we have insurance! I'm off to get some relays from the scrappie this morning before work. so maybe these will help. Then I guess I'll be needing to check for sparks and then checking signals with my multimeter (well my dads at least). Just out of interest, I know why the cutoff trips but how does it trip? what sensory input does it use?
