Push down and turn. Use thick rubber gardening gloves in case the glass breaks. If stuck solid, break bulb and use pointed pliers to extract the brass casing.

Sounds like good advice to me, however if it is stuck spray some WD 40 on it first.

I used to think the same and fingers have just the right grip on the bulb until it shatters. Still got the scars.

With care no worries but if bulb stuck dont force it with bares hands.
