Hello dear!
I' m new on this forum for Punto (I wrote some months ago on Uno forum), and I'm going to ask you help for a little problem on my mother's Punto.
It's a 1.2 8V engine, and dualdrive servo assistance on turning wheels (I can't say it correctlly in english).
This car experienced a problem with its electrical servo system. Inface, sometimes, servo assistance completely vanishes (steering becomes very hard to turn) and a red light turn on on control panel (light of steering). The problem finishes by turning OFF ignition key and engine, and re - turning it ON.
This problem happens not during the normal going on streets, but it happens only when she parks the car, in other words it happens if someone turns wheels left and right and left and right more than one or two times.
I know that servo problem is not an unknown problem for Dualdrive, but I don't know anything precise about it.
Can someone help me??
Thanks a lot!!!

I take it your talking about the electric powered steering?
Normally this is due to one of three things;
1)Steering ECU (requires steering ECU mounted on the column)
2)Steering torque motor sensors (requires full steering column)
3)Vehicle speed sensor (there is a wiring section available to cure this)

Look at these previous posts but I 'm sure a trip to the Fiat dealer will be required in your case.Normally the VSS wiring loom section is tried first as its te cheapest (by far) option!

Hope this helps

OK, thanks you!
I know it's not an easy problem to solve: steering is very important!
I'm thinking to go to a Fiat technician.
Thanks,
Andrea.
