A few of you kind fellows (you know who you are :) ) advised me to replace my clutch owing to some pretty iffy noises coming from under the bonnet when the pedal was depressed.

You where bang on, its totally knackered yet still managed to work somehow.

Half way through the job, tomorrow i've to strip out the release arm from the box, clean and grease it up before attaching the new clutch to the flywheel then hopefully the rest will follow.

In the second shot, hopefully you can see my home made engine support doing its job. If anyone local wants to borrow it once i've finished give me a shout and your more than welcome.

Going to attempt a couple of pics now :)

God damn, those fingers wouldn't have lasted much longer.

A piece of advice though, don't put any grease on any moving parts when you put it back together. Greasing the release arm should be ok though, but don't go crazy.

Well, all done now and the difference is night and day.

When I first went to try the car with everything finished my foot practically went through the floor, I was so used to pressing that much harder i'd not even realised just how bad it had become.

Its now so light you could probably press it down with one toe lol.

Like a knob I ended up damaging the outer nearside CV boot though, I needed to apply some heat to one of the two bolts on the strut that holds the hub assembly.

I'd even used a steel lid off a grease tin as a heat shield but still managed to melt it.

But in the scheme of things i'm not that worried. At least the worst is done and it drives lovely :)

So, CV boot next then (last job) exhaust system as mine's shot (n)

Thanks for listening guys :p
