Hi my radio has been displaying the wait message for about 6 months and cannot stand to be without it any longer.

After taking it to a garage yesterday they advised me to leave the key in and 'wait' message should begin to flash after 20-30 mins, and then to enter code 6334.

After two attempts each lasting 45 minutes, the message is still displayed and not flashing.

please help its driving me crazy!

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Assuming you have the standard Fiat Punto Blaupunkt radio, the " WAIT " message will appear if someone has tried to enter the wrong code too many times. To clear it, you need to leave the radio and ignition switched on for 2 hours. The radio is ready to accept the correct code once the display shows " CODE " then "- - - - ". After the 2 hours, you may have to switch the radio off then on for the " CODE " and " - - - -" messages to appear.

Disconnect the battery for few mins then reconnect. That will allow you to type the code in aswell won't it?

Not if it's the standard Fiat Punto Blaupunkt radio it won't.

There'd be no point in having the security code feature in radios if just disconnecting the power supply defeated it. To prevent people sequentially trying all the numbers from 1111 to 6666, after 3 incorrect attempts there's an increasing duration waiting time for each group of 3 wrong attempts.

hi i am new to this forum,i have a x reg fiat punto and the battery needed to be changed,now have message asking for radio code displayed,unfortunely i do not have it,its a blaupunct radio cassette and all the numbers i can find are BP9372Y3577208 and PUNTO LOW 7649372316NAND PROD NR FIAT 735 272 569 any help would be great

i know it takes 2 hrs for my radio to let me punch the code in but my Fiat Blaupunkt displays "wait" but radio unit switches off after 20mins, even with ignition turned on, then I hit the on button to turn it back on & the "wait" display shows again, presumably restarting the wait clock back to zero???? advice please?? i have the code which i got from this site, its starting to get on my nerves

The Punto radio should have a MENU function on button 8. You can adjust the settings to prevent the 20 minute switch off. However, I don't know whether it works when he radio is in WAIT mode. If it doesn't, you will need to remove the radio and connect 2 external power supplies.

did radio come with car or have you upgraded
reason i ask is if you have a radio low your cd player quite likely wont work even with da code

only pay what you can afford

Hi guys I havent been able to try the code yet as my radio says 'wait'. I've been told to leave my ignition running for 2 hours but I left it on for at least 3 yesterday and the 'code' message hasn't appeared. Can anyone help?
