Did the radio display show " CODE " then " - - - - " immediately before you entered the code?

The CANCHECK message can show because the CAN (Control Area Network) wires haven't been connected to the radio, or because a radio from a CAN equipped car has been fitted into a car without CAN.

as davvy says and i tried to explain depending on spec of your car and age other radios from the fiat range dont always work
its like trying to put a rolls royce radiator in a mini
the radiator would cool the mini but it wasnt designed to block your view

thing is for a £1 you can wang it on ebay cheap and i might buy it

I am having the same problems with my daughters radio in her Punto. I left the ignition key in, turned on for two hours, switched off the radio and switched on again but it was still the same. It has 'wait' on the radio screen and I am running out of patience with it. Any ideas?

Waiting time depends on how many times an incorrect code has been tried, and could be up to 24 hours as it the table below.

The radio and ignition needs to be left on continuously for the waiting time. If you switch either off too soon, the waiting time starts again.

Thanks Davren. There seems to be a bit more to this than first told! This happened when my daughter went to turn on the ignition having not used the car all day and found it said 'code'. She then pressed menu without really knowing what she was doing! (It is her first car and she only got it two months ago). Thats when the word 'wait' came up. We have the code so thats not a bother. I just want to know how to reset the damn thing!

There's nothing you can do to reset it, apart from leaving the radio and ignition switched on continuously for up to 24 hours until the display shows " WAIT " then " - - - - ", then enter the code.

Hi there, can anyone help and advise on how to enter (0) with a standard blaupunkt radio which i in a fiat ducato, i have my code but obviously i cant see how to enter this when all i have is presets 1 to 6 so i assume another button is used?

The standard Blaupunkt radio fitted to a Ducato will have a code from 1111 to 6666 only. I suspect you've been given the wrong code.

If you post the radio's serial and part numbers, I'll let you know if I can get the correct code for you.

You may be able to get the code for this Panasonic radio from a main dealer. If not, then it can only be decoded at a car radio workshop.

Wait means too many incorrect codes tried

I believe wait requires 3hrs without been touched and itll reset

I need the serial number. It will be stamped into the side of the radio and be something like BPx389xxxxxxxx

there is no other bp number on the side.please see photo. this is all it says on the radio. Thanks
