Hi Everyone

I have a couple of proplem with my old dears Punto Mk3(i think it is:eek:) 04 plate 1.2 8v active sport.

First- When driving the car i noticed when driving over manhole covers and any other uneven serface the rear end of the car seems to shake/twich from side to side!!!! (n)

2nd- She's havin problems with turning the key once in the ignition,to start the car. Not steering lock,

Has any one else had these proplems if so could you tell me how to fix um please!! Thanks

The key or the lock are probably worn. Do you have a massive bunch of keys on the keyring?

The rear handling problems is most likely worn out shockers. If they are old replace them.

Not silly money and easy enough to fit. That said, the fronts are more of a hassle to do.

PS In UK the Mk3 (VW Polo style version) is often called the Mk2A. I have not idea which is really correct.

There's not that many keys on the keyring so not a weight issue there. The cars only done 37k so the shockers are prop original.

I'll get it checked out

Thanks again dude :slayer:

HOW MUCH!!!
as i understand it you buy a blank and swap electrics around re seal it and get the blank cut for about 20 quid.
or just get a blank cut and keep blue part on keyring

Yeah the guys at the key place said that they can cut a key and we can put the old key with the chip on it over the top of the new key and that would work. That would cost a fiver!!! But to have a new blue key cut with a chip in it costs £75. They had to take the fuse box out and read the code off the fuse box to do the new key. Took about 30-40 min to do this.

I've also had the rear shocks done. Got shocks from Euro Car Parts.
2 x Bilstein rear shocks £42 for the pair including VAT!!! Fitted them myself took about 40min to fit and wot a diffrence to the handling of the car. So much for the Garage checking them, the nearside one wasn't holding any comprestion. My mother's had the car for 4 years and it's not been picked up on any MOT and it's been like it for that long!!!

Thanks to whitesei for your help!!! (y)
