Technical Does the punto mk2 1.2 8v have a centre box/silencer?

As title does the mk2 1.2 8v punto have a centre box or silencer on the standard exhuast?

Some are saying it does, others are saying it doesn't.

The reason I'm paranoid is I had a centre section done with straight through pipe, but if mine had no centre box then it was already straight through or am I being thick?

I just hate the fact that I might have paid for the exact same pipe I had on there but just a shiny one lol

Is there a bulge in the heat shield underneath where it may have been? Puntos seem to all have mix and match parts!!

I have to check.

I should have checked beofre I got it done.

See what I did originally was get just a backbox, then got a centre section to make it a cat back system.

But someone told me I was bumped as they have no centre section.

If that was the case would them doing a centre section have changed anything, it was a custom performance exhaust place.

On my previous car when I got the centre section the noise changed and the exhuast would pop and it just felt more responsive

Chances are you did have a silencer on it, most do I think a few people have mentioned not having one. Maybe that was because it had been replaced to start with

One more thing to save me starting a new thread, with the punto mk2s I take it the 16vs are only the sportings, active sports, and hgts etc?

No there is a 1.2 16v aswell

How can you tell if it's a 16v or 8v?

If it doesn't say either on logbook, or badges on car?

The engine! only difference really is 16v has twin cam and a different airbox on top, more of a square.
8v has an oval air box

Mine was sort of like this

although my engine layout is very different would the 16v one be similar style but just squarer or compeltely different.

I wouldn't have a clue.

That's the 8v, 16v is just slightly bigger on the top of the engine and has this airbox on it:
