Hi everyone!

This is my 2nd attempt at a first post. Computer decided to eat the first one lol. It's 11.30 and it's been a long day, so I'll give you the shortened version for now

Basically, my Corsa died and my step-dad picked out a new car for me (I live 20 miles away from him and he knows a local car seller).

It's an S reg Punto S in (I guess) British Racing Green. Totally standard, very clean apart from the usual 12 year old scrapes and dints. FSH, 2 previous owners, MOT til March 2011. Had to tax it today though. Only 80800 miles on the clock.

Recent work done: new timing belt, new head gasket and bolts and thermostat has been replaced (no mention of water pump).

Took it away for £695. I know nothing about Punto's (atm) so is that a fair price?

One quick (first of many probably) question...

I put petrol in it today and noticed the fuel cap doesn't want to lock. Putting the key in, it only turns about 140 degrees to the left (and can't remove the key) which I assume is to unlock it. Taking the key out after turning to the right, I can just unscrew the cap. Am I doing something wrong or is it broken?

and for the petrol cap you have to screw it ON tight then lock it (turn right) i had trouble with mine when i first put petrol in haha memories

I will be spending the whole of Saturday cleaning and detailing it, but in the meantime, here's a first look...

The bodywork does need some tlc when you look closely at certain areas. I'll put more pics up at the end of the weekend when I've worked my magic :yum:

thts not a bad price i got myn for 300 quid its a 97 R reg punto 60 sx 85990 (on the clock when bought)
need new jackin sills welding and few bulbs replaced,and a new tyre. erm when i got it they said that the head gasket had gone but iv ad ppl look at it aint its in mint condition for almost 13 years old

looks nice mate
cc'd the bumpers,mirrors and handles
and get a nice set of alloys.

if you do get some alloys can I have the wheel trims?

all the fuel caps break like that, dont worry about it just leave it as it is, the earlier puntos didnt have locking caps anyway.

I think one of the trims is cracked on the other side. Will be a few months yet before I can afford to do any mods let alone new alloys .

I wish I had a paintwork like yours . Ive got a s reg punto red, and it's like 7 shades of reds from previous owner neglect. To much to get a paint job for it though seen as though it a little run-a-round.
