Ive removed the black plastic strip that goes where the edge of the door is to the window but left nasty glue. Tried t-cut but wont come off with that.

What can i use to remove it without damaging the paint? it you run hard it moves the glue about its sticky

Very easy but be prepared to give up a couple of hours, lots of swearing and smell .

Requirements:
- old credit card
- lots of mutton cloth (or polishing cloth)
- white spirits
- Autoglym or T-cut
- at least 1x 6-pack of your favourite brew :)

Method:
pour some white spirits on a large piece of mutton cloth. rub fairly hard on a small section of glue (not more than 10-15cm at a time), but not enough to damage the paintwork.
Let it 'soak' for 1-2 minutes and then scrape glue off with credit card (I found it easier to use the short edge). wet the glue frequently with white spirits. You will find that the glue becomes almost like jelly and sometimes even "peels" off just by pulling on it.
Once you have removed the glue, clean off with water and T-cut/Autoglym.
Make 100% sure all traces of white spirits have been removed.
Continue until all glue is gone.

Some people have had success heating glue with a hot hairdryer. I tried but became very frustrated and had limited results.
I finished my car in just under 2 hrs. .

True, but where is the satisfaction in that?
- getting rid of the wife/GF/partner for an afternoon,
- being able to down a couple of pints without snarky comments from wife etc
- doing something you like with your mistress (the car) knowing she'll pay you back big time
Priceless....

toffee wheel.....2-3 minutes and its all over.... just like a quickie (can I say that here?) :D:D
or just spend a fiver on a toffee wheel takes seconds not hours
