HELP!!

Punto Active 8v 1.2 mk2 facelift

2 problems
1) Steering Wheel light coming on?????? (no idea:confused:)
2) Engine Management light coming on?????? (i have an idea, see below)

Last time it came on was when my dad drove down the drive and reversed up (btw the drive is very steep). I drove down and reversed back up exactly the same and it came on again! :bang:. Why does my car not like my (steep) drive???

Any help will be extrememly appreciated!!!
Thanks

Don't know about engine light on a steep slope :S

Steering light if it only comes on every now and then, then you need to replace the battery. If steering is on all the time and steering is very heavy there's a fault with your column/ motor.

Most likely just need a new battery by sounds of it

The engine light on steep slope confused me too.
It's just had a new battery! lol

Why did it have a new battery?

Logical next step is to have the charge rate from the alternator checked, and the auxiliary belt tension. Have you looked at and cleaned up the earth points around the car?

Hi Ffoxy,
New battery because old one has died. Not checked earth points... (They came on before and bloke came out, cleared codes and disappeared).:bang:

I'd still get the charge rate checked along with the Aux belt. Then move on to the earth / grounding points.

When you say the battery "died" did it have shorted cells / plates?

Or just no charge...?
