:bang: I have a 2001 1.2 Punto and sometimes when the car is cold the power steering light may come on, once the engine is switched off and re started this seems to cure it. Anyone any ideas ? Was thinking maybe the electrics are damp but not sure where the electric motor is.

It could be anything, but 99% of the time it the electric steering unit that is at fault. Not Cheap, But remember its your STEERING.

Agree with above reply but worth getting it checked out by Fiat dealer for fault codes as it could be just the steering ECU(expensive)or the complete column(If its the torque sensors its complete column, very expensive).
