ok so yesterday i took out my whole dash to spray paint. followd haynes manual and today iv refitted it all. but the electrics are now playing up. centrel locking is fine. interior roof light is fine. clock displays on instrimental cluster fine but when i turn ket to electrics nothing appears. if i put hazards on you can hear the click, the button flashes but on the intrimental cluster it doesnt show up unless i unplug the cluster and plug it back on. it will display the hazards are on. if i put headlights on this also displays but if i get out the car and go look at the lights only my side lights are on. also the engine wont start. i have pluged everything back in where it should be on the fuse box and theres no loose wires anywhere. anyone have any idea what this could be? i need the car driving by tomorrow badly.

someone please help. iv just took the fuse box out disconected everything from it and connected it up again and its still doing the same thing. what do i need to do its messin my head up.

Re: please help fast, electrics playing up after putting dashboard back in

Is the fuse box screwed in properly, i think the screws connect the fuse box to the earth

its a saturday of a bank holiday weekend in which there is a large event on
you also for some reason chose to post a punto question in tech talk,so no surprise you havent had an answer in 2 hours
something has to be loose or mis/disconnected

might be worth taking them out and puttting them back in tight making sure the fuse box is flush with the mounts, it might not make any differnce if there already hand tight but is worth a shot if you have no other ideas.

just tryed it and nothing changed.
takin whole dash out again and trying it all over again

Have you checked if any of the fuses have blown, you might have shorted something while it was all out.

maby. im going to try and boost the battery, see if that works. fuses would explain why some things are working but others aint. but would that explain why the hazard light on the speedo doesnt work unless i unplug and replug the speedo cluster?

if you didnt disconnect the battery then i'd say ur fuses or even relays are gone? unless you've screwed a screw into a wiring loom causing certain curcuits to short out??

Retrace your steps backwards and take it apart, you never know u think its all connected but if youve forgotten something your going to think that haha
Trigg~
