Hi guys, I’ve just bought my first ever fiat, and it’s the 1.8 HGT model. As I couldn’t afford a proper car, I bought one which has snapped the cam belt. I’ve replaced the necessary valves and am now at the timing stage. PLEASE can someone post a diagram/instructions of how the timing is meant to be done on this model??? There is a mark on the crankshaft pulley which when aligned to the mark on the cambelt cover sets piston no1 to TDC, is that right??? There is a mark on the exhaust camshaft and NO mark on the inlet camshaft..... How do I set them in the correct position??? And what is the mark on the exhaust camshaft suppose to line up to???

Please help, I have been looking at certain books and manuals and have had no joy so far.

Many thanks
Alex

Old post,
but I'm trying to time the cambelt and can't find any marks that lines up to the mark on the crankshaft

Found this diagram;

And positioned crank to roughly the same spot;

But can't find any marks on the engine case!?!

Car is Barchetta,
so should be the same
