I have just noticed when i purchased my car that the passenger side electric window does not open, i have checked the fuses to the windows and they are fine would i need a new window mechanism or would it be something else. I have found a used mechanism on ebay for £18.50 is that good.

Often a problem with the loom where it goes between the body and the door. Do you hear anything when you press the switch? Normally a stuck mechanism will make some sort of noise when power is applied, whereas if there's a broken wire in the door loom nothing at all will happen.

If you suspect the loom, you should be able to get inside it and find any faulty wires and patch them up!

When i press the button all i hear is the switch click, i cannot hear anything coming from the door. Looks like i will give the loom a go first. So i don't have to take the door panel off to see this loom.

I have checked the door loom and all seems to be ok, what can i try next.

Do you have a multimeter?

The best way to isolate the fault is to go through the system testing before and after each component to see if there is a fault there!
